It is essential in a well-rounded academic program to give students meaningful hands-on experience. We have a very strong internship program; all undergraduates are required to do an internship for which they receive course credit. We are proud that essentially all of our students are paid for their internships, and that students intern frequently at prestigious and highly relevant places. These include the Detroit Tigers, the Tennessee Titans, Neyland Stadium (UT Volunteers), Augusta National, Pebble Beach for turf students; Missouri Botanic Gardens, Disneyworld, Opryland, Atlanta Botanic Gardens for public hort students; and a variety of landscape companies and Oak Ridge National Laboratory for landscape design students.
