TENTATIVE ITINERARY

Departure: (Wednesday – May 16th)

Students leave US for Shannon, Ireland.

DAY 1: (Thursday – May 17th)

Land in Shannon, Ireland early – meet coach, may meet at this point and tour w/ The University of Georgia group Led by Dr. Tim Smalley.

To Cliffs of Moher (lunch), Go to The Burrens (Gaelic for rocky land-geologic & historic site), Drive to Shannon ferry Overnight Killarney (welcome dinner).

DAY 2: (Friday – May 18th)

Breakfast, Visit Muckross House & Gardens, Visit Garnish Isle & Ilnochulen Estate in Bantry Bay (lunch).

DAY 3: (Saturday – May 19th)

Breakfast, Visit Mount Congreve Gardens, Lunch, St. Kevin’s 6th century monastery @ Glendalough, Overnight in Dublin.

DAY 4: (Sunday – May 20th)

Breakfast, Visit Powerscourt Gardens (lunch there), Visit Helen Dillon’s Garden, Dublin City Tour (optional) or free time.

DAY 5: (Monday – May 21st)

Early Breakfast, Board 8:15 ferry from Dublin to Holyhead, Wales. 3.5 hour trip. (board as foot passengers) (Customs) Meet new driver & coach, Visit Bodnant Gardens, Visit Dunham Massey, Overnight Manchester area.

DAY 6: (Tuesday – May 22nd)

Breakfast, Take new coach to Biddulph Grange Gardens, Visit Chatsworth – lunch, Visit Melbourne Hall, Overnight Stratford or Warwick.

DAY 7: (Wednesday – May 23rd)

Free day for laundry, shopping, Shakespeare, tour, etc. Overnight same as above.

DAY 8: (Thursday – May 24th)

Breakfast, Visit Stowe Garden, Visit Hidcote Manor, Overnight Bath area – Group dinner included. May meet up w/ UGA.

DAY 9: (Friday – May 25th)

Breakfast, Visit Heale Garden, Visit Blaise Hamlet (lunch) & Blaise Castle, Return to Bath (students free to explore) – overnight Bath area as above.

DAY 10: (Saturday – May 26th)

Breakfast, Visit Iford Manor, Lunch, Visit Hestercombe Gardens, Overnight Oxford.

DAY 11: (Sunday – May 27th)

Breakfast, Visit Blenheim Palace, Lunch, Visit Rousham Park, Overnight Oxford.

DAY 12(Monday – May 28th)

Breakfast, Visit Stourhead, Stonehenge cultural historic site, Visit Hampton Court Palace, Overnight London.

DAY 13: (Tuesday – May 29th)

Breakfast, Take coach to Sissinghurst Estate, Lunch, Drive to Claremont in Surrey, Back to hotel – bus and driver depart.

DAY 14: (Wednesday – May 30th)

Free day, London Farewell dinner with University of Georgia.

DAY 15: (Thursday - May 31st)

Fly home with great memories of our time in Britain.
