- Provided updates on ornamental weed control at the Tri-Cities Turf and Landscape meeting in Jonesborough, TN. January 2009 (~75 participants)
- Provided updates on ornamental weed control at the Landscape Professional;s Workshop in Franklin, TN. January 2009. (~125 participants)
- Made three presentations regarding weed control updates in small fruits, tree fruits, and vegetables at the Tennessee Horticultural Expo in Nashville, TN (~100 participants). January 2009.
- Invited lecturer to present two talks to the Tennessee Vegetation Management Society. The first talk involved educating the group on proper management of invasive weed species, while the second presentation helped explain the proper use and introduction of a new herbicide (aminocyclopyrachlor) for control of noxious and invasive weeds in Tennessee. The meeting was located just west of Nashville, TN (~200 participants). November 2008.
- Invited lecturer to present information on weed control options for ornamental beds at the ;UAP Professional Products Seventh Annual Seminar & Trade Show in Dundee, MI (~100 participants). October 2008.
- Presented information regarding weed control options in pumpkins at the West Tennessee Research and Education Center;s ;Pumpkin field Day in Jackson, TN (40 participants). September 2008.
- Invited lecturer to present information on herbicide biokinetics and mechanism of action plus weed identification at the Northeast Weed Science Society ;Noxious and Invasive Vegetation Management Short Course in Mount Gretna, PA (~35 participants). September 2008.
- Presented information on the mechanism of herbicide action to the eastern region of Tennessee State Foresters at the ;Rapid Forest Health Assessment Training Workshop in Knoxville, TN. This meeting was organized by the Department of Forestry, Wildlife, and Fisheries (15 participants). September 2008.
- Presented results from field trials with the experimental herbicide aminocyclopyrachlor for potential use in pumpkins, watermelons, cucumbers, and cantaloupes at the ;Steak and Potatoes Field Day located at the Plateau Research and Education Center in Crossville, TN (~60 participants). August 2008.
- Participated as an invited guest lecturer to North Carolina State University;s Invasive Plant Ecology and Management Workshop in Asheville, NC. Presented information on key woody invasive weeds including weed identification, selective control measures, and herbicide registration and biokinetic activity in woody plants (~75 participants). August 2008.
- Presented information about the identification and control of invasive weeds to employees and contractors of the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) in Dunlap, TN (~40 participants). August 2008.
- Served as a farmer problem contest judge at the annual Northeast Weed Science Society Student Contest hosted by the University of Delaware in Georgetown, DE (total of 37 students from 5 universities). July 2008.
- Represented the University of Tennessee at the Tennessee Department of Agriculture ;Cogongrass Workshop. Presentation and discussions regarding proper identification, control measures, and prevention strategies for this invasive species in order to limit its introduction in the state of Tennessee. (~75 attendees). July 2008.
- Presented information on transgenic crops and weed resistance at the ;Milan No-till Field Day in Milan, TN (>100 participants). July 2008.
- Presented information about weed control in ornamentals at the West Tennessee Research and Education Center;s ;Summer Celebration: Lawn and Garden Show in Jackson, TN (~65 participants). July 2008.
- Invited guest lecturer to present ornamental weed control information to University of Kentucky extension agents in Hopkinsville, KY (20 participants). June 2008.
- Participated in Junior High 4-H Academic Conference. Facilitated tour of Stanley;s Greenhouse, University of Tennessee football/baseball fields (turf management), and co-created an agricultural trivia game where the students competed for prizes (~20 students). June 2008.

The show is anchored by Dr. Sue Hamilton and Beth Babbit of the UT Plant Sciences Department on WNOX News Talk Radio in Knoxville, TN. March 2008. (two times- target audience 7,000 people in 5 states)

- Presented information on the discovery of new herbicides at the Mid-Atlantic Crop Management School. Participants included growers, dealers, sales personnel, and crop consultants from the Delmarva area. November 2006.
- Hosted the Northeastern Weed Science Graduate contest at Stine Haskell Research Center in Newark, DE. The contest participants included 44 graduate and undergraduate students from 6 universities. August 2006.
- Participated as an industry representative to the Corn and Soybean Growers Association Commodity Classic in Anaheim, CA. Provided interviews on crop protection chemicals to numerous growers and media representatives. March 2006.
- Met with faculty of Michigan State University to discuss the current needs for weed management in turf, ornamentals, vegetable crops, and Christmas trees. July 2003.
- Visited with Dr. Fred Yelverton in Raleigh, NC to discuss the potential for new herbicides in turf weed management. Also, attended the Golf and Grounds Field Day at the North Carolina Sandhills Research Center and observed current turf management research in plant pathology, entomology, and weed science. 2008 Guest Lecturer, Public Horticulture, undergraduate course, Department of Plant Sciences, University of Tennessee. Presented information on proper weed identification and weed control options for public gardens.
2000 Laboratory Instructor, Pest and Stress Management of Forest Trees, undergraduate course, Department of Plant Pathology, Physiology, and Weed Science and Department of Entomology, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Laboratory sessions involved biopsy of diseased plant tissue, identification of plant pathogens, tree identification, identification of insect pests, and control measures for forest trees under insect and disease stress.
2000 Guest Lecturer, Agricultural Chemistry, undergraduate course, Department of Plant Pathology, Physiology, and Weed Science, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Topic involved the discovery and impact of agricultural chemicals.
1999 Laboratory Instructor, Weed Science: Principles and Practices, undergraduate/ graduate course, Department of Plant Pathology, Physiology, and Weed Science, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Lecture topics included weed identification, crop and weed response to herbicides, herbicide mode of action, herbicide resistance and management, sprayer calibration, fate of pesticides in the environment, and herbicide use in various crops.
