Students are required to complete at least one internship experience before graduation. Internships at various public horticulture enterprises provide students the opportunity to put theory into practice and screen possible job options. Internships are a fun way to gain valuable experience in the field. Here are just a few examples of internships completed by some of our students:

Missouri Botanical Garden |

Callaway Gardens |
| "This internship was the best experience! Not only did I learn a great deal, but I also came away with fun memories of the summer spent in Pine Mountain, Georgia. Housing was free and there was so much activitiy going on at Callaway during the summer months. The internship consisted of a three month rotation through various aspects of the garden. I highly recommend this internship!" -Emily Smith |

There are internship opportunities at our own UT Gardens. |
| "What I enjoyed were the comments from the garden visitors. When you heard someone say, "Oh, how beautiful" you soon realized that all the work was worth it! During the summer months I played an active role in watering, weeding, garden design, greenhouse maintenance and general plant care." -Beverly Roberts |
