A little history...

In July 2001, the plant side of the Department of Plant & Soil Sciences merged with the Department of Ornamental Horticulture & Landscape Design.

The interim name of the new department was Plant Sciences and Landscape Systems.

In July 2003, the permanent name became Plant Sciences.

Juggling the name changes in the graduate and undergraduate catalogs was a little awkward; we gave it our best shtot. The OHLD, PSS, IPS and PSLS course designations will change to the PS designation for the 2004-2005 catalog. All Plant Sciences undergraduate and graduate courses will soon have one designation: PS.
