17. Text
In this exercise, you will add one or more text layers to your image.
1. Click to the Text tool ("T") on Tools Pallette
2. Set the parameters to define text: font type (Arial, Verdana, Times Roman, etc.; regular, bold, italic); size; edge treatment (sharp, crisp, strong, smooth); line justification (left, center, right); text color
3. Click onto image and type text
4. Highlight text to revise parameters
5. Move text around image using Move Tool (upper right on Tool Pallette)
6. To add drop shadow, add another text layer as above, with same letters and same parameters except change text color to black
7. Position black text layer below original text layer in Layers Pallette
8. With black text layer highlighted in Layers Pallette, click Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur, adjust radius, hit Okay
9. Use Move Tool to position blurred text (drop shadow)
10. As for the prior four exercises, align the original image at the top of assignment_photoshop.psd, and copy the altered image to the bottom
11. File Save for Web (Alt+Shft+Ctrl+S) as assignment_photoshop_text.jpg
12. FTP assignment_photoshop_text.jpg to the photoshop_assignment subfolder in your images folder on your Web server (example of finished color assignment file)
13. Proceed to smooth
