Adobe Photoshop Assignment - Odds and Ends

19. Feather

This exercise involves "feathering" the edges of an image: fading or blurring the sharp edge into the background.

1. As in the smooth exercise, highlight som eportion of your image that is smaller than the whole thing. For now, highlight a portion much smaller than your whole image.
2. Hit Select Feather Atl+S+F, then enter a feather radius (higher numbers give more feathering; try 4 for now). Then hit the enter key or Okay.
   
   
3. With the selection you feathered still highlighted, hit Ctrl+C to copy the image.
   
   
4. As for the prior exercises, align the original image at the top of assignment_photoshop.psd, and copy the altered image to the bottom.
   
   
5. File Save for Web (Alt+Shft+Ctrl+S) as assignment_photoshop_feather.jpg.
   
   
6. FTP assignment_photoshop_feather.jpg to the photoshop_assignment subfolder in your images folder on your Web server (example of finished color assignment file).
