Each project should conform to the following characteristics:
- Subject matter will be agreed upon in advance by prior discussion with the teacher, finalized via submission of a
proposal;
- Site to be populated using the course paper written by student;
- Site should conform to copyright law, as noted in the course lecture on this topic;
- Site will contain at least 1 link requiring a helper application on the client computer (i.e., Adobe Acrobat pdf file, PowerPoint slide set, audio or video, etc.);
- Some of the web pages in the site should contain images to support the text;
- The web page will be set up in the plsc448.ag.utk.edu UNIX space provided by the university. The site must be functional during the semester to allow for browsing by other students and "browsing for grades" by the teacher.
- Format requirements:
- Banner/header at top, consistent across all pages
- White background
- Sufficient and consistent navigational aids (including banner/logo image linked to index.html)
- Professional and customary use of font types, font size, images. Restrict font type to Arial, Times New Roman, or Verdana.
- Clear acknowledgement of affiliations (minimum = Plant Sciences logo)
- Adequate "chunking" of site material into separate, linked pages
- Pages for Index; Contact info; Affiliations; About This Site or Introduction (unless cover page serves this function)
- Cover page = index.html
